Doll quilt done

I finished my doll quilt for ??? (it is a secret who it is for.) I will be mailing it today. I used machine trapunto for the feathered star. I am happy with the front of it, not thrilled with the back and binding though. I had done string piecing for the back, but didn't get it exactly square, so I made the binding wide on the back to cover the uneven border fabric on the back. Not perfect, but at least it will be on a wall. Hope ???? likes it!

Doll quilt swap 2, top done

I finally finished my top for the Doll Quilt swap on about.com. It is a feathered star inside a feathered star, with snowballs around the edges. Now I just have to figure out how I will quilt it.

I got this beautiful doll quilt from Rebecca (jakenemma) on about.com. I love it, I will be hanging it on the wall behind my sewing table. Thanks so much Rebecca!

Doll quilt swap

Here are a few of my first blocks for the doll quilt swap on about.com. They are the improved nine patch block.

The directions said to piece the curves, but I decided I want to applique them instead. That is why they are pinned on right now. Will start appliqueing them tonight.

Doll Quilt ideas again

Here is another possible layout for the doll quilt. It keeps the scrappy, but defines the circles more. What do you think?

Doll quilt swap

Here are some photos showing the pattern I will be making for the doll swap on about.com. I have not decided which I will do as far as a one background fabric like the one with white or if I will do the scrappy one. It is called glorified nine patch, nine patch wedding ring, or improved nine patch depending on who you ask.
